Invitation to meet --->
It is a rule that upon moving out, giving up or selling a house share, the departing person pays a so-called "farewell fee" of 5% of the proceeds into our 'community fund'. Departing lodgers too pay a farewell fee, equal to one month's rent.
Over the years, these accumulated farewell fees constitute a fund for the use of residents in the house. This fund will be managed by an external, trustworthy accountant.
Monies, if sufficient, will be used to grant financial baking for prospective residents in regard to financing the purchase of his or her share of the house.
And any interest deriving from investing these farwell fees is dedicated to reducing the group's daily living expenses. For example is designated to pay toward electricity or heating costs in the communal areas or toward plant purchases or other agreed uses, maybe a new washing machine ect. Decisions about this are taken by the 'residents assembly'.
Thereby all who live within our Yoga Shanti Cohousing House will enjoy consistently low utility costs in the future without large management fees.
